Many say that enduring the long, brutal Chicago winter is worth every bit of the Chicago summer.

Today I can vouch for that. I completely forgot how good 80 degrees feels and how much more fun exploring is in the sun.

People flooded the streets of Wrigleyville. Seasonal depressions lifted, and we were all a little giddy.

I bought a fedora in ode to the sun, and now we're making tacos in ode to the fedora. Here's to our first summer in Chicago!

Living vicariously through your kids is detrimental. Living vicariously through your boyfriend is genius.

Dear Aaron,

I enjoy the educational aspects of law school. But it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that I’m not thrilled with the idea of practicing law. I only want to peruse the ideas, scrutinize the minds of inspiring professors, meddle in some good books and legal theory and then get out with my soul.

My true passion is collecting knowledge; preferably through travel, experience and adventure. I dream of being a vagabond, but unfortunately our society doesn’t embrace the every-day wanderer. However, there are a select group of people who are required to wander for a living, and fortunately for me, musicians are one of them.

If you go on tour, I will have a legitimate reason to feed my wanderlust. I will have progressed from a mere transient vagabond to a professional groupie; an unequivocally more prestigious title. My father would be proud of a professional groupie, and congruently, your dream has become my dream.

I struggled with this briefly, because I don’t want to lose track of my own identity. But then I thought the hell with it, I see a star, and I’m hitching my wagon to it. (And if these genius ideas don’t transpire, I’ll likely wander anyways because that’s just what I do. I’ll simply need to find alternate financial means.)

No pressure.

P.S. If my c-walk ever draws a crowd large enough to sell tickets, I’d be honored to have you resting on my laurels.
